Puzzle Game Play For Logic

Games exist for recreation and entertainment; however they can also be used as educational tools. A puzzle game is designed to help a player enhance their critical thinking skills while playing them. They are created for players to use their brain related skills to complete the puzzles. There are different types of logic related crosswords available which you can use to enhance your critical thinking skills.

Crosswords, numeric crosswords, Reversi, Chinese checkers, Hangman, Towers of Hanoi, and Sokoban are some among many other brain enhancing crosswords you can use to enhance your logic skills. Numeric crosswords are effective for enhancing mathematical problem solving skills. Numerical crosswords presented in an easy level are ideal for children. The numerical crosswords help improve children's critical thinking and provide a fun approach to learning math. They are also ideal for adults who generally want to sharpen their mental abilities.

Games are addictive and players easily find themselves constantly playing them. Subjects like mathematics require consistent practice to acquire the necessary problem solving skills. Playing these fun educational tools constantly works efficiently as a practice tool helping the player enhance their problem solving capabilities. The numerical crosswords encompass basic math operations including multiplication, addition, division and subtraction.

Learning how to properly use these basic calculations goes a long way in helping children learn how to solve other complicated math calculations. Word related crosswords are also effective tools when it comes to expanding a person's word knowledge base. Hangman for instance requires the player to have a certain degree of word prowess to provide the missing letters which spell out the required word. The numerical and word crosswords bring in a fun element in allowing players to guess a couple of letters which act as guides to the required word. They are also known to enhance the brain skills of a player and are commonly used by computer programmers and other professionals, who require brain enhancement, to boost their thinking skills. A number of companies encourage employees to play them recreationally to boost their thinking capacity.

If you have children it is recommended that you should encourage them to play puzzles in a bid to polish their problem solving skills. You can also download a puzzle game onto your computer and play it whenever you get the chance. These positive fun educational tools are recommended for everyone.

Crossword mag subscriptions?

I would like to gift a subscription of a crossword magazine to a crossword addict. Not being an aficionado myself, I wouldn't know how to gage which magazine is best. I know that newspapers increase their difficulty each day. I think something as challenging as the NY Times is reputed to be would be about right.

I found a whole series of crossword puzzle only magazines at www.crosswordsonly.com-sub.info

I also found Dell Crossword magazine subscriptions, but I think those are too easy? Also, I want crosswords only, no mazes, no jumbles.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

It all depends on the level of expertise of your recipient. One would not wish to trouble a fanatic with Easy Puzzles, and some merely wish for a light mental work-out first thing in the morning.

For those who enjoy grinding their skulls to dust in frustration, The New York Herald Tribune crossword puzzle publication is simply grand. They are difficult and challenging.

For those who want the most Challengers for their buck, I vote for the Dell "Extravaganza" which offers the most Challengers and Experts per issue.

For less challenging puzzling, any of the Dell crossword publications are almost inevitably accurate, knowledgeable, intelligent, and sophisticated. I find Penny Press to be woefully amateurish and backward, with the same lame clues and authors over and over and over and over. Just my opinion.
