PC Running Slow due to McAfee Total Protection?
I have purchased and upgraded to McAfee Total Protection and my PC now takes up to an hour after log on before it is up and running. Is there anything I can do
McAfee is a very resourceful program and takes a lot of Random Access Memory, i wouldnt reccomend using it. Your problem though seems like something else is the matter. Not sure what it can be without any further detail but if you have a dual core processor you can double starting up time with a handy little trick i learnt.
Press the start button at the bottom left of your screen, then click 'Run' ten type in 'msconfig' then goto the boot tab at the top of that window than click advanced options and tick 'number of processors' and choose 2 in the drop down box, that should speed it by about half and another video to help speed up boot time doing a similar thing is found here:
