Looking for a Mortgage, do you know if there is one out there where I can make a payment every 15 days?
It am looking for the best possible way to pay off the mortgage, and save money at the same time.
There are plenty of options out there, and many people do go with bi-weekly payments - and it's not a bad idea at all because you end up sneaking in a few additional payments each year.
Just talk to your mortgage broker or the bank you're planning on getting your mortgage with. This sort of thing does need to be sorted out before you sign your mortgage though. A mortgage broker is usually the best way to go since they know which banks offer which options and they can do all the leg work for you to find the best deal for multiple banks/lenders at the same time. My mortgage broker got us quotes from 15-20 lenders for ours.
Doing additional payments as many others have suggested may not be allowed by your mortgage, so make sure you straighten this out before you sign your mortgage. Many will even charge you an extra fee if you make extra unscheduled payments. My first mortgage would allow us to make an additional lump sum once a year without penalty.
