If I install a proxy do I need to install a firewall on every computer connected plus the server itself?
I was wondering if connecting each computer to a server configured as a proxy with only one firewall working on the server will protect all computers connected to it, or do I need to install individual firewalls on each computer?
No if it acting as a proxy you can install the firewall on the Proxy assuming the proxy is the final hop before it gets to the internet.
In other words you have to position the server in such a way so that all the clients PC's are on one side of the firewall and the internet on the other.
You will need two network cards for this to work i.e., one for the client PC subnet and the other for the internet connection.
