Can I use Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional (education version) to interface with a commercial version?

am a freelance editor. I have an assignment for Houghton Miffllin (big publisher). They want me to edit using Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional. I won the educational version of this software. They will send me pages. I will edit them and return them to the company. This process may go on for a while. Can I use my educational version software to interface with the materials they will send to me using their commercial version of the software . . . . or won't it work with their commercial version?

Legally you can't use the educational version for actual work, only for taking a class. Technically it will work, it's just illegal.
