how to transfer iPod music to PC
I’m a big fan of the iPod but what I don’t like is Apple not being very forthcoming about how to move music from the iPod back to the PC. They’re quick enough to tell you how to transfer the music from your PC to your iPod but when you want to do the opposite, Apple clams up tight.
Their reasoning is probably that the only reason you’d want to transfer music from iPod to PC is to copy it and illegally distribute it. But that is really an insult to the music buyer. There are plenty of legitimate reasons why you would want to transfer your music from the iPod back to the PC. For a start, what if your hard-drive crashed and the only copies of the music were on your iPod? Or you accidentally deleted a song from your hard-drive and you wanted it back, without having to buy another copy?
It has taken me ages to work out how to transfer iPod music to PC but I have finally got it. This is how to do it on a Windows PC.
The easy four-step guide to transfer music from iPod to PC.
Step1. Connect your iPod to PC.
Step2. Run iPod to PC Transfer software.
Step3. Select music, photos, or any other file you want to backup via play list or search
Step4. Select a output path on your PC and click on "start" to transfer.

Reverting it back to factory settings is good for getting rid of any crap that has built up inside the iPod and making it run faster. After all, the iPod is basically a hard-drive and like PC hard-drives, an iPod can do with a purge once in a while to give it its speed back.

Can you transfer iPod Touch apps from one computer to another?
I downloaded apps for my friends iPod Touch because he doesn't know how to. Can I transfer the apps from my computer to his, or will I have to download them all over again?

Yes, you can move the application files (they end in .ipa), but you'll need to have the destination computer authorized to use the applications by the purchaser of the applications.
To authorize his computer, you will need to go into iTunes, then select "Authorize Computer..." from the "Store" menu. Note that this will use one of your five authorizations, and he will be able to play any of your DRM-protected content that you provide him with, including iPod Touch applications.
