Caring for a goldfish with very limited resources?
I got a goldfish at a carnival last night and it's 5:00pm the next day now. He's in a dish of bottled water. The dish is only big enough to hold one fairly large bottle of water. He's doing well at this point. My mom doesn't want to buy a filter for the tank that we have just for this fish, so my question is...
Can he survive if I just replace his water with a new bottle of water everyday instead of filtration?
The petshop I just went to was out of goldfish food. He isn't eating the fish veggie flakes I bought him... what can I do?
Anything else I can do to keep him alive with very limited supplies?
Don't tell me to flush him or let him die, because that isn't going to happen.

Gold fish are one of the worst kinds of fish because they need so much water. Ten gallons should be the minimum for any gold fish. Just so you know, it would be better to use tap and then treat it with water conditioner. Gold fish also give off a ton of waste, so without a filter it's going to be really hard to keep the tank clean. You'll need to change the water at least once a day, possibly twice.
