Insight to the American Revolutionary War
The American Revolution started after years of problems between the British Empire and the thirteen colonist of North America. The colonies ( Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Georgia, Connecticut, Massachusetts Bay, Maryland, South Carolina, New Hampshire, Virginia, New York, North Carolina, and Rhode Island and Providence) joined together to break away from the British empire because they no longer like the actions of the empire, its paying of taxes and they want to become United States of America. They rejected the authority of the Parliament of Great Britain to govern them overseas without representation and then expelled all royal officials. The British even passed a law called Stamp Act that says that colonist had to buy stamps for all legal papers, newspapers and even playing cards.
The colonies did not follow the law until it was changed in 1766. The colonies believed that the revolution against the British king, King George III was already fought and won.
By 1774 each colony had established a Provincial Congress, an equivalent to government institution, to form their individual self-governing states. The British sent more soldiers to keep control of the colonies and impose direct rule. In that same year, the British passed the Intolerable Act. The Boston Tea Party and the Boston Massacre caused the people to become even furious about the situation.
Through representatives sent in 1775 to the Second Continental Congress, the new states joined together at first to defend their respective self-governance and manage to arm against the British army known as the American Revolutionary War or also known as the American War of Independence.
When the war began, the thirteen colonies did not have a professional army. Instead, each provided for its own defences through the use of local militia. Militiamen served for only two weeks or months at a time. Not all colonists wanted to leave the British Empire. The Loyalist or Tories, stayed loyal to Great Britain. The Patriots or the Whigs, who have the opposite view wanted independence.
Before the American War, most of the people were Patriots. Many colonists wrote letters showing how they felt. Some who become colonial leaders were:
? Samuel Adams
? Benjamin Franklin
? John Adams
? Thomas Jefferson
The Continental Congress established a regular army- the Continental Army. In June of 1775, George Washington was appointed to be the commander-in-chief.
The development of the army was a work in progress and Washington augmented the troops with short-term colonial militia throughout the war. Ultimately, the states determined that the British monarchy could no longer legitimately claim their allegiance. They served ties with the British Empire in July1776; the Congress issued the United States Declaration of Independence. The war ended with the effective American victory against The British Empire in October 178.

Does Star Wars Empire at War require separate copies of the program to multi-play on a local area network?
I'm thinking about getting this game and multiplaying it on a local area network, but I really don't want to purchase several copies of it. I've seen it work both ways (i.e. Warcraft 3 and Starcraft do not require distinct serial numbers for a local area network, but Battle for Middle Earth does). Any idea if EAW needs more than one copy of the CD?
yes u need to have two copies to play because the game requires u to have to disc in when playing
